YOU WILL SEE HEAVEN…

Daniel 7:9-10,13-14

9 As I looked, thrones were placed and one that was ancient of days took his seat; his raiment was white as snow, and the hair of his head like pure wool; his throne was fiery flames, its wheels were burning fire.
10 A stream of fire issued and came forth from before him; a thousand thousands served him, and ten thousand times ten thousand stood before him; the court sat in judgment, and the books were opened.

13 I saw in the night visions, and behold, with the clouds of heaven there came one like a son of man, and he came to the Ancient of Days and was presented before him.14 And to him was given dominion and glory and kingdom, that all peoples, nations, and languages should serve him; his dominion is an everlasting dominion, which shall not pass away, and his kingdom one that shall not be destroyed.

John 1:47-51

47 Jesus saw Nathana-el coming to him, and said of him, “Behold, an Israelite indeed, in whom is no guile!”
48 Nathana-el said to him, “How do you know me?” Jesus answered him, “Before Philip called you, when you were under the fig tree, I saw you.”
49 Nathana-el answered him, “Rabbi, you are the Son of God! You are the King of Israel!”
50 Jesus answered him, “Because I said to you, I saw you under the fig tree, do you believe? You shall see greater things than these.”51 And he said to him, “Truly, truly, I say to you, you will see heaven opened, and the angels of God ascending and descending upon the Son of man.”

MEDITATION

DANIEL NARRATE an apocalyptic vision that sees the manifestation of the Son of God and the foretelling of Him taking His place on the seat of Judgement surrounded by all those who are in service of Him.

St JOHN DESCRIBE a personal discourse between Jesus and Nathana-el. Nathana-el is taken aback and surprised at the accolade that Jesus showered upon him that suggest that he is an honest straightforward individual with no underhanded deceitful tricks. Similar but not equal to Peters revelation (Mt 16:16), Nathaniel revealed Christ identity before he had received any teaching from Him!

Jesus recognized Nathana-els virtuous obedient patience to wait to discover truth and gift him with the promise that he will witness the works of God’s mercy and deliverance of the people. Our perennial rebuttal that “Christ knows our heart” when confronted by truth will not wash since Christ knows all about who we truly are versus who we pretend to be! You and I are called to be obedient, diligent virtuous faithful disciples who unceasingly cooperate with Christ and the teachings of the Church that He established upon Peter, as we await His second coming with the hope that we will be taken up to heaven to be part of the just men and women who shall sit at His feet, enamored in and by His gloriousness!

LET US PRAY:Psalms 138:1-5

I give thee thanks, O LORD, with my whole heart; before the gods I sing thy praise;
2 I bow down toward thy holy temple and give thanks to thy name for thy steadfast love and thy faithfulness; for thou hast exalted above everything thy name and thy word.3 On the day I called, thou didst answer me, my strength of soul thou didst increase.
4 All the kings of the earth shall praise thee, O LORD, for they have heard the words of thy mouth;5 and they shall sing of the ways of the LORD, for great is the glory of the LORD.
